I'm usually up for just about anything but think I'd wrap my azz in bubble wrap, and/or gauze, before climbing into that contraption ...?

WOW !

maybe it's just me, but it seems a shame to butcher an Intimidator into "race" trim to only run 300hp. Why the helmet? Barbs boat has well over 100hp more than that, in full stock trim, a true beauty, and handles every bit of that power well. only my opinion...

Needs a big block anyway ...

Having been involved with boat racing for a number of years, the answer is very simple: Insurance.

All competition boats have to meet certain safety requirement before the insurance provider will sanction the event.  No open toed shoes in the race pits, dedicated fuel dumps, spill containment, safety inspectors, mandatory time-based replacement of some items (regardless of wear), and the list goes on.  Helmets are just one more item on the list.

oh sure, I believe that. I was just making a joke about it, picturing this guy out on the water in his helmet, suit, and race trim boat when Barb goes blowing by him wearing sunglasses, a smile, and waving hello!  ;D

Wex - that image made me laugh.  Hilarious.  That's exactly how I picture it would be.

Good one Wex, I think that one brought a smile to everybody's faces!  You forgot to mention the killer tunes coming from Barb's boat as she blows bye.   ;D
