Olson Family boat in Family for 54 years!!

I hope all of you who attended this years meet got a chance to meet the Olson kids. They brought a beautiful 1960 black and white Glastron fireflight that has been in the family since Dad brought it home brand new in 1960.

I think it's great to see a boat like this to remain in the family so long all while being used the entire time. You can tell this boat was used and loved as it is still in great original condition. It was really great to meet all of you and to hear your awesome story.

Here is an email I got from Rolf, one of the boys in the picture:

"We really enjoyed the classic Glatron event!

Attached is the scan of the polaroid photo our proud dad took of his new Glastron boat back in 1960.
It had a 45 HP Merc, which we upgraded after the second season to the present 65 HP
The four kids in the boat are the four of us who were at the event this weekend!  From left to right, Rolf, Eric, Jane, and Ann.  Standing behind the boat is our late mom, who became the main driver of the boat, teaching probably more than a hundred people to water ski. 
Over the years we have had so many happy hours in our Glastron.

It was always unusual, with the hardtop.

Thanks again to the folks who organized the event.  It was so much fun to see the other boats.

Great story, great looking boat!  It sure provided a lot of use, just look at that train of reg stickers... :)

Awesome story!  It's great to see them all together, still enjoying and sharing the boat and memories with each other, and the group, that was a big part of their family history.

Just a thought... I noticed they didn't have a flag on their bow light/flag stanchion.  I have this Glastron flag I bought years ago for my surflite that I never use.  It is excellent quality, double sided with the Glastron name in the correct orientation on the other side as well.  I like my Red one better on my boat.  But this grey one I think would look perfect on theirs.  Do you think they would be interested in it?  If so, I'll donate it to them.  I would rather see them use it on that beautiful time piece then it just sitting in a box here.  Jason, or anyone, if you have a way to contact them you're welcome to make the offer for me.
