So I picked this up on the 4th of July. Got some background from the PO. He had only had it a couple of years but was selling due to water leakage in the transom.
Apparently, he had taken it in to a shop and they recognized it and said they had done some work on it previously. I guess the PO to him had hit something hard and took the outdrive out, which led to some transom damage and hence, the new(er) SEI
When they started the repair, they found rotten wood and did some band aid patching with included some expanding foam on the inside. It didn't work so he decided to cut his loses and sell it. He said his wife preferred something they could move around in better anyways so he bought a deck boat.
It was pulled from storage solely to be sold so its still winterized. I took his word on how it runs. He said the mechanic that winterized it commented on how well it ran, so, another one bought by me without running it or better yet, a water test.
So the motor and outdrive will have to come out and the transom repaired. Over and above that, there is some deterioration of some of the upholstery. Cracking on the rear edges of the sun pad, a hole in the passenger seat, one of the Glastron-Carlson emblems is missing, horn cover, and the front hatch is cracked and repaired. Some damaged spots in the rub rail too, but overall, very sound. The hull is in very good shape as is the gel.
