You might check your tach setting. 5 pin stands for a 10 pole stator and 6 pin is for 12. Not sure which you need but I had a neighbor that claimed his 140 ran 7200 in the mid 50's. Impossible. That was a 19 OMC. He had a 20 Raker which I bought. It was a little steep for him. Same boat.
