This is the stuff to use(West Marine, aqua strip), safe for gelcoat.  Worked well on pinstripe repair on 16ss.   Works well on most paints, hard to tell what was used.  Hand painted, I'd suspect signpainters one-shot.  If you have some goof off, it might be worth a try.  Try to avoid acetone based strippers unless your  just doing small areas at a time.  Never used oven cleaner before, might just work?

Was told that by a guy that painted numbers on boats.
That was over 30 years ago, so might be better stuff to use now.

Oven cleaner is what the guy who paint the name on Miss Toni used, sprayed it on and wiped it off like it was never there.

Its a Westfield semi-custom cover.  I've had a couple covers from them now, and they have the measurements for lots of our boats, so you just put in the year/make/model and its a custom fit cover.  (Not cheap, but I've never had a failure either.)

That is the same company I used for the cover for my cvx18.

Cover was a custom fit for a cvx18 fit was perfect even a cut out for the ladder.

Think you could trailer it with it on?

I always have...it is much more stout than the Menards/Fleet Farm covers, and generally waterproof as well.  You can really cinch it down tight.  Really well built, I've never had a failure.  (But, my covers don't sit out in the sun year round either.)
