My front yard is still covered in snow but if I can get the V172 out of the Glastron Cave this Saturday I think I am gonna pull her down to the Mississippi. I saw boat trailers at the 494 ramp in So. St. Paul yesterday.

Your still NUTZ Jason ... LOL

Jason, I do not want you winning the hard luck trophy or contributing any parts to it. My extreme risk at this time of the year would be to start the outboard in the driveway in long underwear, parka, and boots.

Hard to believe that in years past, I (and others) have already been on the water already... March 14th being the record I believe. In fact, I think that picture was taken in my boat.
Anyway, Washington County is projecting record floods on the St. Croix this year. We are already being deployed to the Lake St. Croix Beach area as early as next week. Although, one shift for Monday has already been removed.
I'll try to get pictures from my duty station as it progresses.

yep, that was your boat Brian. March 16th 2008.
Tomorrow looks nice but my yard is still very snowy. Not sure if the 4 wheeler or truck will get it out. We'll see.

I've done recon of the expected flood areas and checkpoints. You cannot see the river from the checkpoint intersections. Also, there is a 4-6 foot earthen levy adjacent to the water. If the water crests above the levy, all bets are off!
Check out these sites for further flood info.

Gonna be a wild spring all around!

I can not seem to load (by myself) without getting wet. I bet the waters a little cold! Too many "things" in the river in the spring for my liking.
