Title: Lake Rathbun 2019
Post by: Plugcheck on April 09, 2019, 10:01:56 AM
Just an FYI to those who might be interested.  June 20-23 2019.  Same info as previous years, marina and campground continues to improve, but there are many camping options around the lake.  Hoping to make our reservations soon.

More minn/wisco people should come!  We always have an awesome time. The marina is nice and campground is also :-)

Confirmed our reservations recently, just checking if anyone else might be interested.  Rathbun is a nice lake with lots of amenities.   Please ask if you have questions.

Just talked to Janell at Rathbun.  Lake is full!  Current reading is 917, it spills into parking area at 920.  Everything is open, but I doubt much Beach area is available.  Probably do more floating than beaching I suppose.  Still have camping areas available.  Weather forecast is good, but honestly is a long range right now.

Plattesmouth bridge is open, not sure about the road over to Glenwood.  34 is closed, 275/92 is open, saves a little time over I-80.  We hope to see you there.

Arrived Wednesday afternoon, slight drizzle untill 8pm.  The main ramp was closed due to high water, only the high water ramp was open.  We opted to have the marina staff put us in.  Very steep ramp and RV's don't mix.  Thursday was fantastic, cool, in the 70's and cloudy, but we had the lake to ourselves.  Water is high, not much Beach anywhere.  Spent a little time teaching Connie how to operate the boat, good driver training day.  Friday morning has arrived with some scattered thunderstorms and overcast skies, sure we can get out between the rain drops.  Here is a picture of Thursdays run, almost looks like I'm sitting, but actually about 40 mph.

Brandon, we went past the state park, doesn't look like erosion has taken any real estate from the park.  Not really any beach area.  Looked like a number of campers set up.  Nice place, but we have been spoiled by the marina, restaurant, facilities, etc.   All new bathroom and shower facilities.
