V 179 windshield
« on: July 31, 2020, 03:40:00 PM »
so I was playing with the idea of cutting down my windshield-but now that I have placed it and looked at it on the boat, I think I will keep it, because I added higher seats I think it will give me more  headroom with the top

Has a factory look to it, and besides, you only need to make yourself happy with the form/function

Maybe find a used, cheap one and cut it up and try it ..
Or just bend up some tinted plexi.
Saw a picture of a Glastron like your .. not sure of model, size or year .. with low tinted plexi WS.
Looked pretty cool .. changed the whole look of the boat.

I saw one with the cut down window too...I did like it! plexi  was something I thought about also. I may yet tint this one, I found a top I like and the smaller windshield would be cramped though. I did install  the windshield today-the other photo was just sitting loose on top

I like the way you did the Capitan chairs. When I rebuild my 179 I wanted to do that, but I also wanted to give it a more modern look by adding a rear bench with a sun pad over the motor. That may happen eventually.

I added a bench seat -but down both sides---I now wish I had put it behind in the back-but still it works for what I want. If I had to do it over I would have put it in the back. Here I am adding a chrome strip over the seat.
