Was discussing marine foam again, and revisited the idea of using a bladder instead. It would need to be protected from damage, but the main idea is to use it on cvx type craft so access to the engine and transom can be accomplished more readily. I suppose a removeable cube of foam could be fashioned, but this could occupy a greater volume than afforded by the opening. Sorry, I just think up weird crap sometimes.
