No shimming in these, starter bolts to the bell housing, i'm not that familiar with how the Bendix actuates in the Prestolite starter, but seeing as we had it rebuilt the guy who did the work I'm sure will fix it, though it's kind of a bummer when they missed something the first time around

John prob knows best, he is a fan of the engines with the distributor on the wrong side of the engine.  My experience with Ford starters is the electric motor turns to throw the Bendix, the Chevies used the solenoid to throw before applying current to starter motor.  In either case if the gear mesh is not correct then premature failure is likely.  My camper starter worked for about 4-5 starts before the Bendix locked extended.  New starter and removing the shims worked best.  Likely just a bad Bendix in your case.

Why are the seats corners pointy like this? Does it serve a purpose?  Benny is wondering. Lol ;-)

Just a guess, but I suspect the side foam were bolsters that helped keep folks centered in the seats.  Over time the side foam collapses and leaves the "points"?  Looks to be puppy approved to me!  I think that boat is their favorite.

I think your foam is old and starting to "Break down" loosing it's shape and making seat look weird ...
My foam was smash down, and soft,  so replaced with new and got shape back.
Paul had left over pieces from other jobs, so we built up layers and wedges.

My wood seat base's were rotted, so made new one's and added a two inch layer of high density foam on top of old foam.
Seemed to help, but when kneeling on seat I could hit bottom board.
You could just add to old foam to get shape back ...

Paul uses a electric carving knife to cut foam, works great !

Checked out the camper top. There's some custom critter-made venting that needs to be repaired :-/

Yes, we patched up the camper cover, and it’s a good thing because it’s raining like heck right now

Looks like fun rain or shine.  Turning out to be the river craft of choice.
