Thanks again Glenn , the crank pulley and the pump pulley are the originals , the crank pulley has a shim behind it to match the waterpump . I was able to find a new pump at the same height as the original pump that came with it . I'm going to try the distributor with or without the vacuum advance to see which works better , the distributor is a cheap chinese  unit, if it doesnt work out i'll go with a brand name marine unit later on . I shot the engine with VHT high temp engine paint and VHT high temp clear after i de-greased the whole thing , its an engine its gonna get greasy and dirty not much i can do to stop that in the environment its gonna live in , it should look pretty good for a few years at least lol . Gil

 WOW !  Beautiful job!

That's a good idea to try the dist. with and without vacuum advance . 10-12 degrees of timing on the timing tag should be about right with vacuum line off 800-1000 rpm. You will have to experiment with it a little.

The manifolds outlets are lower by about 3-4 in. than stock ones . Was wondering what your plan was for that?
I like how you left the ends of the heads unpainted.

I checked the original manifolds that came with the boat against these and they were the same size all the way around , i think the outlets are higher on mine not sure ?

Thanks Dorlese , what the video doesnt show is the hour long bonehead show before starting with the classic distributor in 180 off , some of the back fires sounded like a civil war cannon lol . Gil

Sounds great Gil, all your hard work is starting to pay off. Been there done that with the timing off,you can always tell when its 180 off by all the backfire . That's good you ran it  before installing it in case of any problems.

Thanks Glenn , aside from a couple of leaks , mainly the rear intake/ block seal and one of the oil lines weeping and a couple of noisy valves it looks pretty good so far . Once i get those issues straightened out i'll be putting it back into the boat , the last time those two were together was five years ago . Gil

I quit using the rubber end pieces because of the leak problems on the intake .
Silicone gasket maker works best and they have a copper colored one that would
be a good color match for you. You may not like this idea but I have pulled them
out in place, when they are new, and cleaned area good then squeeze silicone in
being careful not to use too much. That stopped the leak 100 %  Nothing to loose
if you are going to remove the intake  to fix it anyways . I f its leaking now its really
going to leak at high RPM.

I'm leaning in that direction with just a good thick bead of silicone , it didnt leak much but too much to let go
