Great article!

Checked out the Mall of America earlier today while I was waiting on my friend to get back into town...  thinking of an earlier thread I read about increasing public awareness about the club and it's goals...   Just an idea...  I had a vision of 5-10 Classic Glastrons sitting in the 4-story open circle courtyard where "Best Buy" is, with racing flags surrounding them, at the entrance... banner for the Glastron Classic coming up, with a few reps. from the club there to answer questions.  Boy those boats would look great in the lights, and from different levels of the mall.  They have a raffle going on for a Ford F-150 in the mall, so I know they can get trailers in there.

I think that would be a great way to quickly reach/get some public awareness of literally 10s of thousands of people in the local area who could not only find out more about the boats, the club, but the meet/upcoming boat parade/etc.  A week or two before the classic would be ideal.

Hoping to make it to Red Wing tomorrow morning to hook up with the parade.   If nothing else, may get to Lake City to splash the boat there.

Looks like the weather is going to cooperate.   Happy boating to all!!

Brian and friends:
I will be on the water some time tomorrow afternoon.
A landscaping friend of mine started working at my home Thursday (for free).
I now have three new complete driveways on my property.
One for the boat.
One for my truck.
And one extra.
Now I can actually use my 2 1/2 car garage/shop.  Bad timing to run in to this weekend, but a deal I could not pass up.  See you on the water tomorrow.

Sweet, can't wait to hear all about it and see the pics!  I feel like a kid on Christmas eve, can you hear Carly Simon singing "anticipation" in the background ?  LOL  Have fun and be careful driving home.

My son Paul and I attended the 3rd Annual Glastron event on Saturday, arriving at 10 AM and leaving at 7:30 PM. It was an enjoyable event - well organized, great people, good food, calm winds for the ride from Red Wing to the beach on Lake Pepin, and great boats. Thanks to Brian, Liza, and all the others who made it possible. Looking forward to next year.

My motor fuel starvation problems seems to be solved. After spending $600 for a trigger in the motor last year, I replaced the tank to motor fuel line again, and replaced the fuel diaphragm again.

The speed bar seems to be raised each year. Now we have about 4 boats that are in the 70+ MPH range. Awsome display of horsepower, roaster tails, air under boats, and engine exhaust in speed runs in front of the parked boats and audience at the beach on Lake Pepin.

These events connect faces and people with the posts on the Glastron site.

WOW !
What a weekend !
Had a ride in Red's Scimitar, Jeff's CVX-18 and Jim's CVZ-18, got to see and talk to old friend and meet new ones.
Heard there was about 49 boats there and over 110 people !
Seeing so many Glastron/Carlson in one place was incredible !

Thank you Brian, Lisa and staff for putting on a world class event .

Heard some rumors that next years event might top this years ...

Just a few pictures ...

For those of you that might not be aware...  I was told that Steve and Garnet Spaid's Intimidator fired up at the end of the meet!!!  Woo Hoo!  What an amazing way to close the event down!  Thanks to Red, and everyone who made that little treat happen!

You all are wonderful.  Now...  I Sleep!

Great time as I said in another thread. Great people, great food and fantastic boats.
So once again a big thanks to Brian and Lisa for putting this all together and everyone else that helped out in some way, shape or form.

As David said, the bar seems to get raised but I dont mind. I stay in the back anyways where the water is smoother, BUT I do hope to have my V175 ready for next year!
Thanks to all.

That is great news. So hauling the boat there wasnt all for nothing. Anyone know if it kept running or what?

What was done to get it to fire up?  Did they pull the distributer or ??? Last I heard it was only firing on one cylinder.

Just wanted to pipe in and say, yes Gregg as you guaranteed me  ;), "I did have the time of my life."

FIRST TIME ATTENDING FOR ME...  What a great group of people!... thanks for welcoming me into the group and making me feel right at home.  Big thanks to Brian and Lisa for pulling together a first class event, you make it look easy & effortless, though we all know it's not!  ... and thanks to all the folks that were right there, without asking, to help you launch or dock a boat or whatever... I don't remember all the names!  Thanks for your friendship and the memories... I made some great new friends... makes all this worthwhile.  I'm really glad I pulled the trigger on the plans to make the meet this year and I WILL be back next year, one way or another.  I'm starting an auto draft into my savings today for next years meet... I hope that many others, including MarkS and Doug, I know there are others I can't think of right now, can hopefully make it as well.  You will not be sorry that you did.

BIG thanks to Glynn and his family for "hooking me up" with a truck and my old GT-150 for the event... it was amazing!

and the BOATS!... the Glastron flotilla for the boat parade was awesome, and I got a ride in a beautiful CVZ-19, Scimitar, CVX-20 jet (and got to drive it too!)... are you kidding me?    I'll post my PICS and Video clips soon and get copies consolidated and off to Brian.

Thanks again all!

Not the first one to say it, but big thanks to Brian, Lisa, and everyone else who made the meet possible.  I had a blast and it was great seeing everyone again along with the new faces.

Wow did I ever crash when I got home.  I think I'll be feeling sore for a few days here.
