The Shorty-Lund Glastron V174SS, cause I want a CVX16/18SS
« on: July 16, 2015, 04:22:48 PM »
Ok, some know the story, some not. Took this off the hands of Mr Tom Lund.
When I got her, the floor was done, but transom still needed to go in.

I finished the transom. Installed new front engine pad.
Installed new impeller and housing in outdrive. (And fresh gear oil)
Installed Engine - Installed new head gasket (SOLID 140 3.0L, Runs and performs GREAT)
Straightened out wiring (All gauges/lights/horn/radio working, etc).
Installed new bilge pump
Installed Power Tilt & Trim
New Bellows and U Joints (This Sunday)

I put it up on Craigslist for $3500 OBO... not expecting that.

I'd love to see this stay in the group!

I am NOT trying to pocket a bunch of cash on this deal. I am looking to get into something more my style, such as a CVX16SS or CVX18SS (Pretty bent on the CVX hull, and no outboards for me, so must be SS). Leaning more toward the 16 I think.

That said, all I really wanna do is rotate this out to get a different boat. She runs and performs great. Immediate hole shot and right onto plane. 39 GPS at 4800 so far... that may change slightly after the U-Joints this Sunday, but we'll see. I could also get more than 4800 if I wanted, so, could probably throw just a little more prop at her if you really wanna squeeze everything out of her.

Here is the CL Post

Again. I'd love to see her stay in the group, so if you want it, make me an offer.

I'd also consider part trade, in the form of a truck (can be a beater as long as it will pull a boat) and cash.

NOTE - SHE IS COMPLETE, TURNKEY - BEEN OUT RUNNING HER ! I'm sorta stuck on photos, was gonna post a couple more - water shots... but it's freezing up on me. I'll be buffing and waxing her this weekend anyway... so a couple more photos later

Hey Shorty,

You need to hold on to it until after Red Wing!
What do you think it would take to buy you out of the boat & give it back to Tom.
We planed to make it a club project but ran out of time.
I know you have some money in parts and your labor.

This is an interesting concept and I am open to it.

The plan was to get out of this into a CVX16SS

Maybe people could keep their eyes open for a fixer upper?

I am adamantly opposed to outboards personally.
