SOLD *** Glastron CVX 23 to restore; some parts; ***SOLD!
« on: July 02, 2018, 05:28:09 PM »
I bought this boat with intentions of a complete restoration, and converting it to outboard power.  Since then, my boat ideals have changed, and I don't see myself having the time to do this project for at least a couple years.  The boat title is in my name.  I'm working through a snag with the trailer title, but should have it in hand soon.

All of the parts shown are presumed working, or unknown, except for the trim pump - it will need a rebuild or replacement.

This will be a great project for someone.  There's nothing quite like a Glastron CV23 / CVX23.

Do you have the motor or any motor parts? I have the very same boat / color and I need an intake manifold.

Thanks. Brett

Thanks Brett,

The only parts I have are the ones pictured.  Sorry, no intake manifold.

The Craigslist ad has more pics:  https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/boa/d/1988-glastron-cvx-23-to/6633009365.html

You really should sell me that ladder and the hardware for the bow hatch. I'll even bring extra cash,  who knows, I may find more stuff that I need.

I'd be interested in the aluminum rub rail as well

Thanks for all the interest in parts!

To be perfectly honest, I originally took on the project knowing that there was a learning curve ahead of me.  I don't know what all of the parts are, or what they're worth.  For now, I don't plan to sell anything that is unique to Glastron, nor the rub rail, as that's probably adding real value to someone who would want to restore the boat.

I'll sell other parts, like the distributor and related parts.  What are they worth?

If someone buys the boat, they have the option of buying trailer or no trailer, but I won't sell the trailer 1st.

still_fishin - If we could come to an agreeable price on the whole boat minus the trailer, I'd even deliver the boat to you, and you could sell off what you don't need.

Oh I definitely don't want the whole boat. Mainly the ladder and hatch hardware. odds and ends.

I have someone who might be interested in this boat.  He has a 460 with jet drive.  Will that fit in my boat?  Can a 460 easily fit to a Mercruiser outdrive on this boat?

Thanks,
Grant

They made a 23 with a 460 BBF and jet, but not a big block IO combination.  Converting from IO to squirter is possible, but not an easy direct fit due to the transom and hull.  Now maybe your buddy has the time, money, and skill to make that transformation, that's his call.  I would like to make a BBC IO in a 23 someday, but I'd buy an IO version to do this.

I'm somewhat interested in the trailer and maybe the hatch cover, if its not broke. That is, if someone buys the whole boat which I would consider but not at that price. It needs EVERYTHING! Interior would be thousands on its own.

Here's an updated Craigslist link:  https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/boa/d/1988-glastron-cvx-23-to/6710322322.html

I sure wish the State of MN would get the trailer title sorted.  It's only been 6 months.

I finally have the trailer title, and I've had the boat title for some time now.

I have one guy who says he's interested.  If he buys it, he'll want to sell even more parts than I've been willing to sell.  If he buys it, I'll try to connect some of you to him.

Finally sold!  Someone bought the trailer, and another person bought the boat on the same day.  Now I'm on the hunt for boat #7.  :)
