Good afternoon all. I have just purchased a 1977 T 179. The walk through windshield is sitting in the bottom of the boat and looks as though it was originally hanging on a "plastic" hinge. Does any one have experience with these, repairing or replacing?

Welcome!
Here is the hinge. If I remember right, I think you need to drill out some rivets that hold the hinge in place.

Welcome!
I have a V179 which is the same as your T179. As Jason said you will have to drill out a few rivets to install the new strip.
I have a question for you though. On the bow seats, what do you have for a latch system to hold them in place? My 179 just has a vinyl strap with a snap in it. Also, If you have pictures of the boat we would love to see them.

Hi 75Starflight, Unfortunately I have only just got the boat which is now at my place in FL and I am back in England however as soon as I get back out there in the new year I will check on the front seat fixings and let you know. As for photos, I do have some but as this is the first time I have ever used a blog/notice board I have now idea how to post them. If you wish to send an email address I would be delighted to send some to you. Many thanks for your help.
