Even though we weren't able to join in because of timing and mechanical troubles this year, we made the impromptu decision to make the three hour drive and instead of just being there in spirit to do a little better and at least view the parade. Of course we were running a tight schedule and ran into road construction - but just made it in time for the tail end of the parade.
Pictures 2985 through 3013 over my next few posts are from our vantage point along the Red Wing dock over by Rusty's River Cruises dock (anybody remember seeing us taking your pictures from the dock?
)
And 3015 I believe is some of you grouping before they reached the sandbar - taken with high zoom from a scenic overlook just before Maiden Rock.
And finally, the rest (3016 - 3023) are from a scenic overlook between Maiden Rock and Stockholm - obviously using almost maximum zoom.
We drove back through the campground later on, but it was a bit too early and looked like people weren't back yet, so decided to start the long trek home. Didn't get home quite as early as planned anyway because we veered off our normal route since my wife had her recent birthday coupon for Red Robin in Eau Claire!
Enjoy the pictures!
