Return To Rathbun Dinner Plans
« on: March 06, 2013, 08:56:11 PM »
Topic started on the Calendar thread, I don't know how to make a new post with existing comments ...

Several of you are planning to attend Thursday night.  Brandon suggested eating dinner at the resort restaurant - great atmosphere, patio is excellent.

I will be coming out Thursday evening to visit, not setting up camp until Friday.  Since I am coming out from Centerville, if there is a desire to order pizzas, I can bring those out.  George & Nicks makes a great pizza out here - it's not a chain, and I think they're rather good.  Like most places, a large with toppings will run an average of $14.  If I bring 'em out, there's nobody to tip for delivery...  just throwing out an alternative.

Also, I have petitioned the local Chamber of Commerce for a donation to support our event.  The multiple states represented helps me out a lot here, and if they do like they did last year, the donation will be sufficient to provide lunch for everyone on Saturday.  I was thinking steak kabobs - with hot dogs for the kids.

I would also like to do breakfast, too, for Sunday - and I'll have a mini camp stove this time, so no trying to cook eggs over a campfire.  I'll bring eggs, cheese, tortillas, salsa, maybe some breakfast sausage, too.  This will be a cook your own - I'll provide the stuff.  If there's a second camp stove available, we can probably make quick work of it all and have a chance to say goodbye with our mouths full.

No inconvenience at all - I have to pass the place on my way out.  Like you said under the other topic - we have plenty of time.

No worries Doran! I make scratch biscuits around 5 inches in diameter and about 3 to 4 inches thick.
