Must be rare ..
-
WOW! A holy Grail boat!
-
Only CVC I'm aware of was an 18. Might be a unicorn 23 out there, why not, there appearantly is a Hammond retirement commerative 23. Love the old ads, cuddy, bikini, beer, I suppose that sold boats in the day
-
Wonder why they didn't go with the CVC name for the CV23 ?
-
I was a bit surprised by them having a 460 jet in an 18 foot boat.
-
The 1975 CV18SS's came with 455 …
Have seen a few CV18SS & CVC18 with Volvo I/O's.
-
My guess is the CV23 was originally going to be called the CVC23 then got renamed to CV23. Maybe CVC23 was to be the CV23 as we know it and were going to have another CV23 without a cuddy????
Interesting that's for sure.
-
That would have been cool .. A closed bow 23 .. Interesting theory ..
-
I sent an email to John Carlson....We'll see what he knows.
-
Should have the ugly duck ready for the gathering next summer.. Cv-18 with Volvo outdrive. Getting ready for paint soon.

Isn't this a CV18SS? CVC-18 had the cuddy.
1974-75 CV18SS
1976 CVC-18
-
Yep .. That's a CV18SS
On the CVC18 the railing don't look as funky as CV18SS.
They blend in much better ...
-
There was a CV or CVX 23 that someone was making into an open bow some time ago, looked actually kinda cool. Found one picture, but it was too blurry to post.
-
My favorite is the CV23 with the hot tub in the bow ..
It comes up for sale every other year.

Now there was a CV27 by Rathbun lake in Iowas that had a hot tub conversion in it. It was orange and white.
-
OK .. That might have been the one (Orange hot tub) I was thinking of ..

Yep, hot tub boat is a CV-27 and I think is down on the Ozarks now. Was in Rathbun for a long time.

Jeff's been looking for that boat !
.. LOL
-
John Carlson said “Must be a typo. There was never a CVC23.”
-
Knew I had pictures of a nice CVC18 …
I need a better filing system !
-
Few more ..

Never seen one in real life, but those are great photos that detail the craft pretty well. Maybe a 23 owner could comment, that cuddy ceiling seems lower, a bit tighter space. Maybe that's where the extra length fills in?
-
It looks pretty tight, Jimmy says on his 23, it is near impossible for him to get in and out of cuddy.
Would guess girl in CVC18 cuddy picture is 5 ft. 4 in. and 90 lbs. ... LOL

Jim’s cuddy has a smaller door than the old ones. Getting in is easy on older ones. You can have two people sitting up and laying down easily. I don’t think it’s cramped at all. The CVC18 doesn’t seem to have as much length to it and the floor is not as low as a 23. So probably more cramped.
