No joke.  $975 doesn't sound bad - especially for those members that have spare drives & motors.

Why does this come up now. Looks to be in decent shape and original trailer. This would have been a better deal than the 23 I bought.

I don't think the interior pics are accurate. It stated that a raccoon  moved into the boat and tore up the interior.

Thought the same thing myself Brandon - I've seen much worse interiors that weren't eaten by raccoons

Joe you need to jump on that. Weren't you just saying you wanted a boat with more room?

I'm going drive by just to take a peek, not sure I want a project due to my limited space to work on it, but it has me thinking...

Joe if you buy it I would be willing to come and help you with it! And I think I know of at least a couple other members that would be willing to help.

Thanks Brandon for the offer to help, I am looking for a larger boat, but ideally in the 17-19 ft range so I don't have to pay for storage.

I have emailed him but no response, I did stop buy and look at the boat, for $980 it’s the real deal.  The pictures on Craigslist are accurate, what you don't see is the squirrel did chew the back of the seats, seat base and the side trim.  However not bad, in fact you could just use vinyl tape for awhile.

The boat has its normal scratches nothing earth shaken, I do believe a day buffing and new blue vinyl striping would do wonders for the boat.  The boat was last registered in 2007, so I would assume more mechanical issues than just the upper gears.  The trailer will need at least two tires to get it out, does not look like it has moved in a while.   I have no idea on the floor, or engine compartment, did not want to push my look too far snooping around, the boat was covered with a tarp so I could not see everything and I did not want a trip to jail...

I left a note on the door, the neighbor indicated the owner is moving out and renting the house.  Not sure if it's right for me but I am interested in finding out more.

Well I was able to talk to the owner, he indicated the boat has not been run for about 5 years.  He did state it has a soft spot in the floor under the bench seat.  He also stated the drive went out while under full power, said it was like the boat went into neutral.  H thinks it needs the upper drive gears. He was not sure if he winterized it after the incident.

Sounds like a full rebuild Joe, but you won't know until you get a better look at it!

I'm still debating it, I would like a bigger boat but my work area is not great...I like the idea of a project and the price is right, however when you consider engine repair, out drive, interior, floor, and trailer work, I'm probable close to 4-5 k in cost. I know I've seen some nice CVX23 in the 5-6 k range and since I wasn't looking for a cuddy, a CVZ may be the way to go, I'm sure I could get that in my garage..
