Title: Have to part with my boating buddy
Post by: Jason on January 04, 2017, 08:19:20 PM
We picked up Banjo 9 years ago and he always been a great dog. Extremely healthy, no accidents, etc. Has always been good with kids and some dogs. We recently had an incident with Banjo and one of the boys and need to part ways. I can get into the details if you are interested in giving Banjo a second chance. I would have to recommend he goes to a pet and child free home. Anyways, This is very hard for us but it's what we need to do.

9 years old
50 lbs
1/2 sheltie, 1/4 lab, 1/4 english springer spaniel.

The day we picked him up in Grantsburg as a puppy. Same day we found the "boat junk yard"

Sorry you have to give him up. Hope you can find a good home for him.

Oh that's so sad. I have a friend that volunteers with Cocos rescue in Hudson, maybe she/they could help you find a good home for Banjo.

That is rather heartbreaking story to say the least.  Not wanting to pry, but would the behavior issue be something that could be corrected by a canine behavior specialist(AKA Dog Whisperer)?  Possibly no longer be an issue when the boys reach a certain size?  Wish I could help, would love to have a dog, but we travel too much to make that happen, and I really dislike boarding kennels.  Good luck.  Michael

It would probably never happen again but you know how it goes. You just can't take any chances. We could keep them separate till boys are bigger but that's not really fair for Banjo either.
