Title: Lake Havasu City
Post by: Diamond Chad on December 15, 2021, 02:37:14 PM
We went to Lake Havasu City over Thanksgiving and rented a boat for the day.  Great boating there.  Big on speed there, the Sping poker run brings fast boats.   last years King of the lake clocked at 199 mph radar checked.  A wide body cat with twin 1735hp and surfacing drives.

We went into some great picturesque coves.

My former boss was big on speed and Poker runs until he went big time boating.

Thanks for the logo correction, but renters can't be choosers.  The rental was a 19ft rinker with a 5.0.  It rattled a lot and the shift cable adjustment was off so you had to accelerate to get into forward.  Made docking pretty intense. BUT, the hull was well designed and it was surprising how well it got up out of the water and accelerated when trimmed up properly.

Did you like the Havasu area?  We've considered spending some time there in the winter once we retire.  We'd like to be by water.  I bet docking that rig was interesting!

Its a fascinating area, lots of coves and channels so its got a lot of variety.  We went north up to top rock and pirates cove.   The city has lots of vacation homes, and could be a good place to find a winter rental to spend some time.  Desert off-roading, shooting, miles and miles of boating, and far away from the city, What's not to like?

Love it! I was just thinking about winters in AZ today after an 8-inch snow last night. I once stayed on a beach near the London Bridge in my RV. I lived in Prescott for about 20 years. Good fishing right there also. A non-stop show of boats as I stopped there at the beginning of spring break
