Saw this the other day?. Can?t tell if it?s a custom or something VW made?

Looks like a 72 bay window grafted on a pre 67 single cab.   The second set of cab intakes us a giveaway    still cool though, just like boats, it's theirs to do as they see fit.

I know exactly where that vw is at.  I spotted that sweet ride on our way hiking.

The most comfortable seat in that thing is laying in the bed.  Could make for an interesting project.  Funny when Tim said he saw it while hiking, a couple of my old vw's had me hiking fairly often.   The hardest thing to get used to  on the buses is that you're sitting over the turning axle, always felt like you were halfway in the intersection before you started a turn.

The samba is a great website/forum for all things old VW. A  lot of past memories of vw's, drive-ins, cruising, muscle cars.  Someone built a new drive in out west of Omaha, but I've not been to it yet.   Most drive INS here closed in the late 70's and early 80's.   As for the custom shown in the pics, likely a T2 engine, fairly easy for a man of your talents.  Who knows, maybe an LS hiding in there?😄
