For nostagic reasons they are cool, but were not well recieved. The CSS line had the popular 19 but the 28 and 33 that you have pictured just could not compete.
They were extremely heavy for thier size and powered by twin 454/330hp engines that would only move the 33 to about 45-50 mph.
There were no amenities such as flushing head or a/c that the true performance boat market had to offer, including a low cuddy style ceiling.
With the competition powering thier boats in the upper 70 mph range. Glastron flat out could not compete against Baja, Fountain etc and thats why it was short lived.
It did have the familiar lines of the Crownline 266 LTD, and to date the LTD is still great looking.

I dunno but if'n ya ask me those all look like mutated Formula hulls?

Yeah too bad the CSS was such a slug Glenn. And as you say the cabin had few amenities. Wonder why was it so heavy?!

This is all hearsay but the engine compartment was said to be over structured and the glass/framing and support was as much as 3 inches thick which made it so stern heavy even on plane it had a very deep draft over 12", much like a cruiser.
The overall displacement wasn't too bad, just where it was placed.

That andretti 259 looks a lot like a hammond challenger.
