Title: Cvx 18 . Remove rear floation boxes ? Are they structural?
Post by: Onger on September 26, 2020, 06:16:18 PM
I'm terrible at computers . Hopefully I'm doing this right .
Can I remove the floatation boxes on my cvx 18 so I have room to work on my motor ? Are they structural? I'd way rather have room to work on the motor . Make some kind of removable floatation.  Has anyone done this ? Would appreciate any info . Thanks

Most of us pull them out for exactly the same reason...storage and room to access the motor.

I removed mine for the extra space.

When I go to restore mine I will be putting them back in just lower..

I did not replace the flotation foam boxes on my CVZ-18, though I will on my intimidator.   The difference being the top openings.  Have considered making removable blocks in the CVZ for engine access, but still in design phase.

Welcome to the forum Onger !

Reason for foam boxes below.
Another option would be remove boxes and foam under floor.
Might not give "Level floatation" though ...
