Title: Glastron Pictures from the Past
Post by: David CVX-16 on December 31, 2017, 09:02:20 AM
The winter months are long, and we need to be reminded of the summer days boating on the rivers and lakes. Why not post favorite pictures of our boats from the prior year or past years that we like. Just a picture(s) with or without narrative.

Don and Bev took these on White Bear Lake back in 2013.

Even After being towed back to get the cuddly, the day was still better than -15

Went to T.I.'s gas dock to get ice.
Met Mr. Carlson and crew, talk for a good hour.
Total forgot to get ice ...

A little eye candy for Jeffy. Another shot of Mike's CV27.  Believe it was taken up at Little Falls at one of the early MN Classic Glastron get togethers.
WOW that's a good looking boat!

Here's a picture of my two brothers and me in our brand new 1978 GT-150 back in the day.  The gentlemen in the passenger seat was our good neighbor friend.

Our first boat was a 1976 Crestflite V-184. She had the original 85hp Mercury when we bought it, but was very underpowered. I got a great deal on this 1992 Merc 115 new (was a few years old, but never used)... man, what an improvement.  Of all the Glastrons I've owned, I have to say this hull had one of the best rides at speed. It never did porpoise, cut through waves really good, and when trimmed up you could feel it accelerate dramatically. It was a fun boat and great for the kids to grow up on!

Testing props with Gregg back in June of 2012. Gregg tried a Laser II, a Power Tech, and two 2-blade bronze props. Settled on a Laser II.

Here's the Glastron I grew up with, a '71 GT160. My dad bought it brand new, probably wasn't more than a couple years old in this picture. It spent many weekends out at lake Waconia. Usually the fastest boat on the lake.  ;)

Was this picture ever in a calendar?  Absolutely gorgeous shot, my compliments to the photographer.  Just seems to tie in all my favorites, camping, boosting, sunset, calm water...

Doing a Glastron search on Google, for the GCOTD thread I found theses ..

#1 is listed as Art and his first wife 1965.
#2 is LA boat show no date, looks like early 70's by horn boxes on decks.

It was this picture Laurie.   Cannot tell what is next to the GT.   Just one of my favorites.

Next couple are from separate trips, one at Rathbun, another on the Mo.

Thoroughly enjoyed everyone's photos and the fun they were having, has me thinking back on all our fun and the fun to come this summer.  Saying goodbye to the little blue boat we have loved for over 5 years now, but the cool thing is I gave it to my son.  maybe he might be nice and trade me back once in a great while. lol.
