Run On Rathbun Stickers
« on: May 05, 2012, 08:57:28 AM »
Just thought I'd throw this out for consideration ... for those attending Run On Rathbun, would you put one of these on your tow vehicle?  Would you want one for other reasons?  The printer I'm looking at has a minimum order of 250.  The larger one is 5.5" x 3.25", the smaller is 5.5" x 2.5"
Throw me some opinions.  They will not be die-cut (which I'd kinda like, but too pricey for now) - they'd be on a rectangle, 70# adhesive vinyl with gloss UV coating.  I picked a gray background that should make the background of the sticker less obtrusive on a tinted window.

Sounds like a good idea to me Dan. I would be willing to take a couple and slap them on the rear side glass of my Yukon.

Which of the two do you guys like better.
I hope to find out on Monday if the Centerville/Rathbun Area Chamber of Commerce will pick up the tab ... surely they want stickers with "Lake Rathbun, IA" on them traveling the roads in neighboring states.  There is only a $6.00 difference between 250 and 500 stickers ... Maybe I can add "boats on the beach" or something and give them out during the Saturday afternoon boat show?

At car shows they give out small "dash plaques". Every show does it, I don't know anybody that has one on their dash. Do you know how many 250 is? You couldn't give them away in a lifetime. Check with that outfit Chris uses Cafe Press?? I would rather buy a T-Shirt.

If you have the vectored Image I have a Vinyl cutter and I could make up 20 or 30 of them.
I think this has become an addiction.

I was toying with having this made up as real patches that could be clipped on the lower rung of a flag on the boat.  But...I think I'm out of time to have them made up for the meet in time.

If folks want them, I can bring them to the meet at Red Wing.

Dan - I'd put one of those on the trailer as well...love them.

Dan, just throwing in my two cents , but I would go with sticker1. That way it lets people know what its all about.

250 was $102 with shipping, 500 was $108.
If the Chamber of Commerce wants to write the check, I'm sure they'd also want the stickers given out to anyone that comes by to look - cheap advertising for them if they've got people willing to use them.  If you were on a boat launch and the guy next to you had a sticker with some event and a Glastron emblem, wouldn't you ask about it?  The Crappie Masters tournament will be on the lake until 3:30 that same saturday - the beach I'm permitted for is within sight of the marina and official weigh-in ... hopefully we can draw from some of their attendance to get some lookers.

I'm up for shirts, too - but I'm still committed to making as much free as I can for CGOA members.  It looks like a two sided shirt (small logo at front breast, large image on rear), digitally printed on a Hanes Beefy-T, will run about $14 each with a 30 shirt order.

Yeah, I like sticker #1 too.

Is that what you're thinking for a t-shirt?  I'm happy to buy one outright...I can always use a good t-shirt!

My two pennies...... I like the first sticker also, because it refers to CGOA and puts the group in the public.  I have 2 classic Gtrons and 2 tow vehicles that I would be happy to display them on. And you could count on me for 2 of the tee's if you decide to pursue those.

My 2 cents are for sticker #1 as well. I'd throw in for a t-shirt as well if they're being made or someone throws it up on Zazzle or Cafe Press etc.

Here's what I've got for shirts ...
Small Circle CGOA Medallion on front breast.  Large "sticker 1" image for back of shirt - no gray background, simply the classic football emblem with lettering printed directly to the shirt.

ooshirts.com - Hanes Beefy-T (sized up to 4x) came out to just shy of $15.00 per shirt.  ONLY if a minimum of 30 are ordered ... AND all must be ordered at the same time and shipped to the same place.  Individual orders are $29 each.

zazzle.com - "Basic T-shirt" (sizes available to 6x).  Priced at $24 each for a minimum order of 12 shirts, $16.80 a piece if we order 26 or more.  This is listed as actual screen printing, thus the minimum order of 12 (they have time & money in the screens).  For individual digitally printed shirts ... we can select a "value t-shirt" & post the design so the same is accessible ... $23.95 each, purchased and shipped individually.

cafepress.com - Their heavyweight white t-shirt was $28 individually.  I can set up a cafe press "store" and post the shirt .... Dark shirts (in gray, black, navy, whatever ... ) were $37 each.  Dark T's with a front only image (move the large back image to the front) are $28.  Currently, there is a 30% discount for Mother's Day with the code MAMMA30.

I've never used any of these companies, and not afraid of any of them, either.  For ooshirts, the best option would be to quickly accept orders and paypal payments  ... then I could place the bulk order and use my paypal account to pay for it.  The other options allow everyone to order individually, now & in the future.  With the 30% off, it might make best sense to use Cafe Press.  I'll get the graphics sized appropriately for t-shirts and set the design up.

Thanks -
Give me another day or so (have a full schedule tomorrow) and I'll get a Cafe Press store opened up with those shirts & maybe a couple with front only graphics.  I think the price will come down going through a store, too.  Maybe $24, instead of $28 ... plus the 30% off.
