What's wrong with this picture?
« on: June 10, 2012, 01:23:28 PM »
Yup you guessed it. Gearcase took a dump. Appears to be the needle bearing under the water pump. No boating for me today. Dang it!

Well the good news is what sounded like a knock in the motor isnt? More good news is I happen to have a spare gearcase, on my puked '86 90hp. Which is actually newer than '86, bleve it's a '90 or '91. Plus I also have the origional '86 case with the broken driveshaft.

So ... the plan is to go through the newest one first and pirate parts as/if necessary from the others. Shouldn't need much, never had a problem with that one.

Hope not to be drydocked for too long. Else I start gettin really 'cranky' ... Don't you? Heh heh heh

Doug, thought your gearcase went to Bob's for modification.

Hope you have enough parts to one good unit.

Perhaps you can diversify your business to include boat cruises and Johnson/Evinrude repairs.

Get back on the water quickly.

I think if you did a sticker upgrade to Evinrude your motor would be more reliable ...

Hope your back on the water soon ...
