Boat ramp nonsense
« on: July 17, 2012, 12:43:27 PM »
One of our locals modified his Dodge pickup truck into a rare 'Jacques Cousteau' special.  (You know, spent time under water.)

Probably a non-boater who did not realize boat ramps end at some point.  They are not roads which continue under the water.

If he would have had his exhaust up a little higher like this guys he could have went further.
Do you think they were laughed at the at the muffler shop? Probably said you want us to do WHAT?
I seen this on the way to the lake on Sun and had to take a pic.
I think this has become an addiction.

Please tell me those "tail pipes" aren't real. Too bad this guy couldn't use them as snorkels ...?

Now Now, some of us here have cars with really tall exhaust pipes.

Pokegama lake in grand rapids is up so high that our fire pit on the beach is under water, really isn't much of a beach to speak of for that matter.  When I put the boat in on saturday I didn't even realize my exaust pipe was under water.  When I pulled up there was a truck with water up to it's front bumper, I wasn't anywhere near that far in the water.

I drive a volvo wagon ... my exhaust pipes go under water all the time.  I don't leave the car running while I unload, though - turn the engine off and set parking brake.  I could put my back wheels under water and I know that I'd have no fear of water getting far enough up to the engine ... however, I don't know what kind of back pressure that would create for the exhaust, or where the exhaust would go if it couldn't go out the pipe ...

You can leave it running with the exhaust under water. It won't hurt anything. It's blowing air out.......just like a boat.
