Anyone off on those days and looking to river trip? We put in at Inver Grove Heights and have so far been to Prescott and back. We would really like to go up stream and into the cities, also down to Red Wing, maybe Afton or Hudson. Just throwin it out there as its always fun to have others out and would be nice to go out with some one who has more experiance. Mid day trips going somewhere for lunch that kinda thing.
-
that sounds like fun, i like to cut out early from work, Laurie and i usually do the st croix during the week cuz traffic is light.
but we are open to anything, and would be great to spend a day on the river with you guys.
ive got mine torn apart right now but hope to test it on the water tonight.
most of my trips are last minute based on good weather.
-
Wife has off Monday's and I'll take the day off sometimes to go for a ride with her if the weather is nice. Otherwsie I'd be happy to meet you near so st. paul around 3:30 for an after work ride into the cities.
-
Sounds good fellas! 612 730-1184. We are probably gonna go out for a while this afternoon. Boats washed and has 28 gals ready to go.

I can shoot for the 2nd as well.
-
1:30 to 2:00 for me if i take half day. could meet up somewhare.
i have a pass for st croix bluffs but if water has gone down it may be hard to launch there.
we are flexable
-
If in Hudson I'd probably catch up with you about 5pm. Otherwise I can do south St. Paul at 3:30.
-
Tara and I are in for Tue the 2nd. This past Tuesday we put in in Inver Grove and ripped down to Prescott had dinner and ripped back WOT. Probably passed two other boats the whole trip. Came back to the dock and this sweet CV was tied up.
-
luv that boat, they spend lots of time on the st Croix.
Brian, when in inver grove do you guys launch ?
-
River Heights Marina. $10 to launch, never anyone there and nice parking.
-
Have you tried Lions Levee in St.Paul Park ?
Free, plenty of parking, dock to tie off to, out of main stream ...
Google map ...

EDIT ...
I've gotten gas at River Heights Marina ... Didn't even know there was a launch there ...
Looks like a nice ramp.
Do you live on that side of the river ?
-
that is a nice run down to Hastings from there, always quiet, even on weekends.
-
From Lions levee or River Heights Marina, down to Hastings dam then up to Ford dam and back to launch is a GREAT run !
Sandy beach up by dog park (down from Ford dam) to park.
-
speaking of cool runs...
we have not been up the Minnesota yet this year
-
Been a crappy year for me ... Only been out twice ... St.Croix & Red Wing.
I'm low on vacation days and work Sundays, plus have to work this Monday.
I gotta retire, work takes up to much of my time .... LOL
-
David, i would like to launch with (or near) Brian and Tara and run with them too.
so Brian, you guys want to drive over to st croix bluffs ? (avoid the lock at hastings)
or if you want to go in at inver grove and through Hastings we could meet ya right there (i would prefer launch at st paul pk cuz its free)
either location would be around 1:30
-
The River Heights marina is like 5 miles from our house. Thats the only reason we tried it. I am all about free and will check out ST Paul park. We have had good luck so far at the Hastings lock, but I was just telling Tara we could probably find somewhere to launch past hastings if we were in a hurry or getting out late.
-
The ramp under the 494 bridge is nice too. free, lots of parking, dock.
There has been a lot of barge traffic so I would avoid having to go through the Hastings lock.... Might get trapped on one side or the other.

Jason makes a good point about getting stuck, we like to stay out late and I would hate to try to navigate from Hastings to St. Paul in the dark :/
You guys all open to launching at St croix bluffs around 1:30 or 2:00 ?
Could make a high speed run to the cove and back, grab eats in Prescott and hook up with Jason later and maybe run north.
Spose to be clear and about 50% moon

Sorry to here that David, hopefully next time.
Brian you guys still in ?
-
Yup, we are in. Lemme know the plan in the AM and we will make it happen. 612 730-1184

Had a great time with Brian and Tara yesterday.
launched at st croix bluffs (its not great there when the water is low) :/
cruised down to the cove and hung out most of the afternoon, the sunshine was great :D
stopped in Prescott to eat, there was a CVX with exhaust pipes cut in to look like an Intimadator (i took no pix)
Muddy waters was closed "due to maintenance" not sure what that means, we ate across the street.
got back in the dark, it was cool but a beautiful clear night.
sorry we missed you Jason, and hope you can get things ironed out with the CV.
maybe Laurie will post pix
-
You mean it looked like this. :'(
-
yep, pipes were a little dif though
-
What a shame to ruin a beautiful boat like that.
-
Tara and I had a great time! Joe and Laurie are top notch! You could not have asked for a nicer day!

We were telling Brian and Tara about the very retro look of the free motor home that we have. Words just don't do it justice ;-)

The current condition....
-
And yes, it is covered with a mall of America billboard vinyl
-
The material on the seats is where its at!!!! ;D
-
What powers it?
-
GM 454
And it's got a 5kw Onan genset
-
This was my Daughters. The motor blew (454) and it would cost $5,000 to replace, and $1,500 to tow it back from Ortonville.

I wouldn't be without one, although we were only out once this year.

He's down to $8400! I've talked to him twice With the same offer. Lowest he would go was $8k, and that was before he listed it on ebay. That's more than what I feel it's worth.
