Hello all
« on: March 16, 2017, 01:35:13 PM »
I'm back with a new user name after a year or so. I previously had a Skiflite with a 40 Evinrude.

Currently waiting for this weekend to wash and wax my "new" tron. A 1983 GX150! Woohoo! Hopefully I'll post some pics this weekend once she is pretty and I'll definitely see everyone at the meet this year.

What was your old username?  And...COOL!  We've never had a gx-150 at the meet and I've always wanted to see one.

That's a good question haha. Something like underwater? It's super cool! Has pretty badly fadded gel coat on the bow and stern from being under just a snap cover for years. Other than that it's in pretty great shape for the Age. Plus I was born in 83. It's gold with brown/tan interior. I'm excited to have a boat big enough for the wife and me plus doggo.

Side note if anyone is looking for a cheap fiberglass boat with a great Evinrude I have one in the driveway. It's causing increasingly angry glares and needs to go away.

There where two or three for sale on Craigslist, looking forward to pictures.
Very cool boat, I've always want one ... But have never seen one in person ...
Ya don't have to wait till Aug. bring her to one of our meets on local rivers.

Hope you can wet sand, compound, buff, wax faded areas back to like new.

If anyone local to the cities with experience wet sanding and buffing gel coat I'll pay in pizza, beer, or money. It's in horrible shape and way beyond anything I've done before. I'm finishing up the wood accents this week.

This one came off Craigslist. Was named Goldie in the posting.

I actually just picked up a few different star brite products to try out! Glad they are recommended. Let's hope I can get the gold back

Start with that and get more aggressive if you don't get good results.

sounds like my weekend is going to be messy. at least I got all the wood and trim off. should make it easier. also give me some motivation, it's crazy how bright it is where it was covered up.
