Actually didn't notice till I read the post asking to ignore him.  Was fixated on that transom plate.  Might be enough to convince most it is an Allison.  Any idea when splash test will occur.   BTW, tee shirts with beer in hand in November, gotta love that!

Think we're gonna put her old racing number, 131, on the sides of the cowl in matching blue? (Promised Don I'd put the # on somewhere.)

Very nice Doug. I would try the boat out with and without the whale tail - might be a different situation on your new boat. The finishing touch would be to repaint the entire outboard motor.

The Strangler colors would be a close match ...
And look VERY VERY COOL !

Yup we'll get her painted one'a these days. Kinda dig the Strangler motif. Probly leave the Bob's True Tracker on. Comes outa the hole faster. Well least it did for the 153, and the Baja?

Note the Strangler pictured does NOT have a low water pickup. Nosecone yes, but no lwp. If you look closely you can see the groove cut in the gearcase to channel water up to the intake. My bet would be the leading edges of the holes have been ground down as well. To kinda scoop water into the ports.

What you really need is a cage around your prop to protect the manatees - who cares about top speed.

2nd coat down. No bugs. Yet ...

Still got 1/3 or so of a quart left for touch up. First coat used exactly 1 quart.

Interlux Brightside polyurethane fyi. "Hatteras off white".

Finally got po'd enough and fixed the trailer. Bought a new tongue jack. Had to make my own bolts out of threaded rod. Need to lop a lil off the stb end so I don't skewer myself but worked okay.

Turned the 'wench' around so the handle's on the correct side. Took it apart and lubed it up as well.

Major milestone today. Steering in. WooHoo! Need to paint my nasty wheel and tie up the hoses, but it works. Yeehaw!

Hey how do ya like my patented custom auto-feed filling/bleeding system? ...

Tach and Water Pressure gauge Joe. Wood stick down the fuel fill'll tell you how much gas ya got left ...

On switch yes, and a separate off switch. Attached to some sort of lanyard thingy ...

Need to come up with a trim switch. Thinkin mebbe just a two button universal deal tied onto the shifter for now.

Seeing how pretty that wheel is, I thought I'd take a look around and find one with switches built in.  Found this, probably a bit much for a boat.   BTW, it's an F 1 wheel.

Is there a gizmo that checks for channel markers?

Just might want to look into one of those.

Need to keep that purty paint job looking nice.

They only cost $50,000...why not?

Lil pricey for me D. Way I see it if'n the motor or drive's gonna come apart? It's gonna come apart. In spite of all the 'guages' and bells and whistles somebody hangs on it.

I was looking for one that maybe had a few in it for trim, and trim tabs, but only found OEM car wheels and that seriously outrageous F 1 wheel.  Did find a floor mount trim switch arrangement that you operate with your foot, but that doesn't seem like it would work well bouncing around.  Also found some paddles that might be neat

I got one of Mercury things that go on the old school shifters, I have seen them used on a wheel before.
U want ?

Thanks Joe, but wheel mounted trim switch won't work with hydraulic steering. Wheel never winds up in the same place.

Drilled a hole and mocked some chit up. Shoulda gone a 1/4" higher with the WP gauge but think I can still squeeze a toggle switch for the bilge pump in underneath. That's the old hole for the recall switch on the fancy schmancy Autometer tach btw. Simple man like me don't need no $500 dollar 14000 rpm tach to tell me how fast I just went ...  (For sale, make offer ...)

Buddy Frank at Dolphin Marine hooked me up with a gently used bilge pump today. One'a them fancy ones where the business end is replaceable. Which is good cuz the screw ears are already busted off the base, so I'll be gluing it down ... Ah well, beggars cain't be choosers.

Ran for a minute! WooHoo!!! But when we slid the "flushette" on to continue? The sob broke and wouldn't hold water. Grrr. (Reckon I shouldn't leave it layin round in the sun all the time ...)

Wiring is close but still needs a lil work. Gotta isolate the tach wires. 'Kill switch' works.

Eh, mebbe mediocre class David, but thanks.

Kinda diggin the plasti dip spray. Like it so much I decided to do the fuel tank. Grey matches the stripe(s) on the boat.

Dash done 'cept for bilge pump switch. Need to find one with an extra long "barrel"(?). Dash there is too thick to use the one's I'm finding. Note I got my trusty Etrex mount attatched. Tach is wired and working.

Figgered out why the trim switch quit. Go up but not down. We suspect the broken wire had something to do with it. Not repairable, naturally.

Two sides of tank done. Three to go. Falling in love with plasti-dip.

Who luvs ya Joe ...  It'll have to do til I can afford one'a them fancy turn signal styles. Now if I could only find my soldering iron ...

Speaking of soldering irons. Did I ever tell you Carl Weller was a customer before he passed away? Quite the character. Always dressed in rags. Worn out pants and a tattered flannel shirt. At first glance ya wouldn't think he had two nickels to rub together.

No soldering iron?  Torch and a nail has worked for me a few times.
