Maybe Bryan is as crazy as me and goes boating on Christmas or New Year (if the river is still open).

Our weather has been in the high 30's to low 50's the past few weeks.
It might hold out long enough for a test run ...

I'm getting pretty excited also, I think this will be a blast.. Got it ready for paint today.. With any luck I'll have some pictures of it tomorrow in color.  And this is only the bottom.. I've still got a long way to go.. Hopefully by ice out it will be ready.    ;)

Hey what color(s) it gonna be. Wasn't that a bicentennial model in the beginning?

I thought as long as nothing on this boat will be stock, why use stock colors.. So I used two of my first and favorite cars.. First was a 64 point. Grand Prix in white and the other was a 66 point executive in reaf turquoise. I used the same two tone design that glastron used with the swoosh. Turned out good, now need to wet sand and buff. Do the trailer, as long as it's off and then start on the top.

Ambitious project. I hope you are done by the time my cv23 gets here. I'll need help shining her up. ;)

Flipped it over and put it back on the trailer. Motor in and all cables look good, I think it's a jet boat now..    But winter is coming this week and everyone wants there cars in the garage, :( so I think it's time to put it to bed for a while..   But that doesn't mean it won't come out on nice weekends to do some more.  Still going to try to have it done for ice out..

Curious to know your "flip" method.  I was just about to flip mine and inspect the bottom before final grinding.  Hoping I can map the bottom to make a better cradle to help relax some of the hook.  You have made fantastic progress, let's hope winter has plenty of mild days to get some work done.

To flip it, the first thing is to get 3 buddy's and a come-a-long of some sort.. Connect the hoist or come-a-long to one of the tow hooks on the transom and one buddy on the other, other two up front. Lift it with the hoist doing most of the work, then when it was high enough to flip let the other 3 corners with the buddy's do the flip with the hoist holding it up. Then lower it back down. The gt wasn't realy that heavy just awkward. I also put ropes on all the other hooks so we had some to use as handles.

When I flipped the 23 I needed a few more than 3. We just rolled it over on to some air mattresses & inner tubes then picked it up and carried it in.

However I dont think we needed as many as we had although it did make it easier.
I think this has become an addiction.
