Remote oil filter parts
« on: January 27, 2019, 08:28:14 AM »
I am looking for a cap that goes on the bottom of the oil filter sandwhich adapter.   The part from mercruiser is 15820T, but is NLA.  Looked at multiple sources, none in stock, NLA.   The cap basically replaces an oil filter, and allows the oil to go to the remote filter and cooler.  Found one on eBay for $200, I can purchase a complete adapter for less, but most are 1/2" ports, the one I have is 5/8".

Do you have the same motor as I do? I can check and see what the shop put on for me as they had it left over from another engine. It’s been working fine.

My application is BBC/Bravo 1, but I believe the same adapter fits the SBC as well.  The part I need is a conical disk with a center bolt likely drilled out like a banjo fitting bolt.   Right now for testing I put on an oil filter in it's place, but when installed in the boat, it doesn't make sense to have two filters.

Here is what I installed on the 23. Entire kit was $100 and has been working great so far.

Thanks for looking, but those kits are for 1/2" lines.  The original set up is complete minus the cap.  The merc set up uses hydraulic hoses with 5/8" fittings.  The lines plumb through the cooler, which also has the power steering loop through it.
