Sold on ebay, it will be heading out next week to it's new home in Houston Tx.
as much as I like the emerald mist boat, it's still kinda hard to think "Red's Gold" is going home with someone else.
1987 or 1988 Clear Lake,Tx. I worked on the first emerald mist scimitar I'd seen, and I been wishing for one ever since, and I try'd to buy this one a few years back, just didn't have enough money, but thanks to my friend Roger, this baby is comfortably sitting in the shop, patiently waiting for a little cosmetic surgery, and maybe a little more ... attitude.

Congrats Red!
I was sad when Bluebell went away too...so I know the feeling...but...you have 10x the work & love in Red's Gold.
Give it a hug and say goodbye! You've got your Emerald Mist'ress...to keep you company now!!!
That's my name suggestion btw:
Emerald Mist'ress
Too easy? Possibly...do you have a name for her?
-
You can exhale now.
-
SAD ...
But lookin' forward to your posts on Emerald Mist'ress !
-
I'm going to concider that name the Emerald Mist'ris .. let's be sure of the spelling ?
-
From Wikipedia...I hate to say it Red...but its perfect in definition & name:
def:
A mistress is a long-term female lover and companion who is not married to her partner; the term is used especially when her partner is married. The relationship generally is stable and at least semi-permanent; however, the couple does not live together openly. Also the relationship is usually, but not always, secret. There is an implication that a mistress may be "kept"—i.e., that the (owner) lover is paying for some of the woman's living expenses.

I hope you realize I'm just having fun with ya...name the boat as you see fit!
;)

I bet it is tough to see her go. You've been all over Reds Gold, inside and out, but you knew the time would come and I dont think you really wanted 2? It should feel like somewhat of a load off your shoulders though and free up some cash too!
Hope the new owner gets involved in the club or maybe they already are? Then you can keep in touch with her.
-
Glad to see you finally sold it, always enjoyed watching your videos...wish it was going to Nebraska...
I'm a project kind of guy, what are your thoughts on the Scimitar in Texas; I'll call it the Hanging Chad...down to $4900 now? I know in the long run buying a complete one is cheaper but cash flow is a consideration over time..

Yo Red, congrats on the sale of Gold!
'Emerald Mistress' has far too many sylables, not to mention being too sophisticated. I recommend Green Queen ... or Queen Green perhaps ...? Heh heh heh
Way to go man!
edit. Hey how 'bout the "Emerald Fox"?
-
I like that Doug. Ya can't get in trouble naming it after the better half.
-
Congratulations Red! Can't wait to see it screaming across the waterways. How about... "Emerald Nuts", gotta have em when you're going this Fast! ok, I'm not really sure what that means, but it's what came to mind... I'm not a comedian, I'll try to stick to my day job. :) I was trying to come up with something based on all the Emerald Nut commercials that are hilarious.

Had to part with my better half a few years ago. Been together ten years. Oh well, still looking for a replacement but "dating" in any way shape or form sucks! Pardon my french ...
But I digress.

I've still not decided on a name for that one yet, the cruiser is going to be named the "Fox Den" kinda covered Jerry's thinkin, but so far, I've been thinkin about "Goin Green" would be approperate if I put the stroker in it.

Got-Er-Done
after waiting on the rain to subside, we got to take the boat out on the lake for an hour or so this evening, the new owner Loved it, one of the nicest fellows you could ever expect to meet, the boat will be leaving here in the morning going to it's new home in Houston, Tx. the emerald mist is Paid For !!!
Dennis, the new owner, will be joining Todd's site when he get's home, and probably here also, I've been trying to sign in on Todd's site with no success, to break the news, but I just give up.
-
Congrats on finding it a good home Red!

Nice ! Congrats on both accounts ... Red's Gold has a new home & Emerald Mist(ress) is paid for. It's never quite as much fun to "own" something that you're still paying for, 'cept maybe the house.
-
last site of the boat heading to Houston.
anybody else having trouble signing to Todd's site ?? been trying for two days now, any help will be appreciated
-
I never log out.

It comes & goes for me too. I have better luck with switching between browsers sometimes, but not always.
How you feeling about Red's Gold leaving? Probably a little relieved?

mixed emotions, I loved that boat, several hundred hours in the rebuild, kinda hated to see that go with-out a pay check .. I woould have been Rich !
But, I got the other one, paid for, made a couple bucks, still hard to see it going to another home ... kinda feel like I betrayed it.
I'll probably get drunk this evening, things will look different tomorrow ... most of you know thats the way I do things.

Nonsense! She'll forgive you. Not like ya sent her off to the glue factory or chopped her up with a sawzall ...
Relish the time spent together and let her go
