I wonder which calendar the Mayans are going to use when theirs ends on Friday, and supposedly the demise of the earth shall happen.

I don't know what calender you or the Mayans are using but my calender ends on December 31st. It starts back up again the next day

We refer to them as "May hee cans" in this neck of the woods. God only knows what calender they'll use next ...?

I've heard if you flip the Mayan calender over, it continues on the other side ...

Ya bummer about Twinkies. The snack food I mean ...

Sad that the workers doing the job of assembling those delicious creme filled dessert cakes got so greedy.

I read that Hostess was in such bad fiscal condition prior to the strike that it had already raided the employee retirement fund to try to stay afloat. Possible that the striking employees left with nothing from their years of working for Hostess.  I just saw on the news that Hostess is selling off the rights/recipes to several of their snack cakes and not to worry that the Twinkie will probably be available again soon.

I'm sure someone will jump at the chance of buying Hostess's reciepes and we will be enjoying Twinkies soon. However I fear that Twinkies
will now be made by the Duo Le Zhi Ri bakery in Beijing.  :'(

The Twinkie abides. And will survive.

I 'member a few years back a twinkie website that stood for (T)ests (W)ith (I)nert (N)oxious (K)akes (I)n (E)xtreme (S)ituations. Where they put twinkies through a grueling series of tests, painstakingly recording the data.

For example they observed the effect on twinkies after being  run over by a steamroller, dropped from a high building, nuked for half an hour, set on fire, etc. Very informative site ...
