Whatever happened to that guy whose family had the foundry and was taking orders for the horn grill and windshield supports for the CVX's? He took my order over a year ago and never saw anything pop up about that topic again.

FYI The horn grill was used on many different Carlsons and Glastrons so they are usually pretty easy to find. Boarding ladders for the CVX16 are pretty tough to find. I don't think they were even available until the mid to late 80's. And I suspect they are specific to the boat but I'm not 100% positive.

@ willer mbd - Maybe try Rayar on the national sight and see if he can give you an update. I know he posts there somewhat regularly.

OK looks like Gregg alreadY posted a link.

thanks guys, I have spoken with Rayer last year on the horn grill. He's only 30 miles from me, but only makes them at the foundry once a year. I've asked, not sure if will happen.

The ladder was on the cvx16 deluxe models as an option in 77 and 78 .I asked the original owner and he just didn't want the ladder at the time. I'm just looking where I can. Will make it easier for the kids to get in and out.

Will have to see how to load pictures on this site. You can see my boat in the 2013 calendar. It's June.

wiliermdb, you have a PM. I feel like an idiot that I missed your order on the last run!

Tom, hang in there. Going into the foundry today. Going to fish out the patterns from storage to see what repairs they need...   ;D

Beautiful boat! I finally pulled up the calendar online, gonna have to order one of them. I see snaps, does it have a custom cover or tonneau?

The snaps are from original cover which is in poor shape. The boat is 100% original and in perfect condition. New motor in 89.

Does anyone with the boarding ladder have the measurements?  Width? Length?

Did you check with your local Glastron dealer?  That's where I bought mine several years ago.  They made a over the top one earlier but would need screws on top and mounts left  side.  The one like David's is same as mine; can mount either side.  I used springs where the nylon clips go.  They break after a while.  Ebay has the deck handle.   Must have sold the ladder already from an 88.  I also made a swivel for the front seat, but have to wedge the mount because it's angled.  Also needs to lock in place.  My neighbor has a 78 like yours.  Mine's 1980 Persian Orange.  We replaced his motor with a 91 115 Johnson new a few yrs ago.
Does anyone know the compression specs. My small block 140 Looper as I remember was 125-130 warm.  I have Sun gauges  Big block (122ci) is 1988 forward.  Did you check the 120?  I think V153 checked a Looper last year at 150 lbs.  That would have to have shaved heads right?  What ever happened to that deal Doug?

Yea, I called a local Glastron dealer, no luck. Also contacted 4 other cvx 16 owners with a ladder, no responses. I decided to buy one on ebay, same ladder as I saw on a posted carlson.

it doesn't look like the one on my CVX18. the ladder on the 18 mounts more to the back of the boat vs the top.

Yea, maybe not a CVX16 either looking at Dave's. I'll see if I can figure it out looking at the catalogs.

The seller is asking $220 for the ladder and replied to me that it came off of a 79 cvx 16. It looks similar to the IO model, not the outboard.  The transom width for the outboard model on either side of the motor is 20.5" and the width of this ladder is 17". That seems a bit wide to fit properly. I bought a telescope type 2 step ladder just like the one Andy put on his restored cvx 16.  It's small, but will work and for a new ladder still in the box and under $25, it's worth it.

I will still look, but if I don't find one by June, I will install the one on route to me now.

Not sure, didn't speak with him. In my search for ladders, I located his website and saw what he used. For a good price $25, it was worth a try.

I bought a handrail off e-bay from a CVX 16,  I don't know if it's the same seller but you might want to contact him. The boat is an OB. Here is the link.

I tried him few months ago. The ladder was the first to go prior.  I think the ladder like Andy has will be fine. The factory one s somewhat of a pain due to that plastic piece that most everybody breaks and submits to a bungee cord to hold the ladder up. The cost of those replacement parts are 4x what I paid for my ladder. It wo
I'll stay up with the basic black weave and a snap.
