Received an email with these pictures today. There are quite a few blogs when I searched with these same pictures now, but chose this link as the most complete.

Can you imagine what our group could come up with for a Glastron themed (boat(ing)) house? ;) LOL

Cool! I'm curious as to what this engine is, and do you call it a V8 or a straight 8? How would an engine layout like that even work?

Am I missing two holes in the pic? I see only a 6 banger there!
-
You're right, it's a 6. My eyes were telling me it was an 8, optical delusion.

the emblem etched on the table top reminded me where I've seen that design... it's a VW VR6.
-
I kinda thought VW had something to do with it, I saw a theme to the pictures. But now that I know what it is I've done a little reading on it, very interesting design.

When i was working in Austin TX some time ago a bar we hung out at had hanging lights made from carburetors, they were cool.

A buddy of mine had a VR6 Corrado. Cool little car. He spent alot of money bulletproofing the tranny, lowered the final drive gear ratio, and seriously upgraded the clutch assembly. Pretty wicked little car for a stock motor. It ran pretty much dead even with the Ford turbo coupe I had at the time. Fun beaters.

Stuff like this is one of the reasons I have a pile of connecting rods and pistons from previous projects in a box in case I ever get creative. ;D
