I recently purchased a 1973 apricot CV-16 in all original condition with a Mercury 1150 outboard. It needed some work but nothing too major. The Mercurt outboard needed immediate attention before I could put the boat in the water. I replaced the internal wiring harness, timing belt, water pump impeller, rebuild of the 3 carbs., new propeller, and a new skag welded on. All of that work has now been completed by my son and I and we fired the motor up last weekend. The motor runs great and we are almost ready for our first ride. I was attempting to replace some of the rotted wires in the shifter contro when one of the lugs riveted onto the ignition switch broke off. We have to replace the ignition switch before it will be safe to run on the water. I have been a life long boater and have raised my 2 kids the same way. I bought my first boat when I was 18, it was a 58 Chris-Craft Cavalier. What a great boat it was. After 16 years I decided to sell the wooden boat to get into something that needed less maintenance and had more room for my growing family. I purchased a 97 Larson Cabrio 290 which has been a great boat for weekend adventures and river voyages. I started restoring and collecting Mercury outboards several years ago. My most recent restoration was a 58 Mercury Mark 58. I thought it looked too good to just sit on a stand so I found a boat to put it on. The boat is a 66 Duo X15 that needed a complete restoration. That has been a year long restoration that is so close to being done I can feel the breeze in my face. All I have left to do is have carpet installed then bolt the new seats in. With that project near completion I wanted to line up my next project. I purchased the CV-16 a month ago and am hoping to be out on the water on the 4th of July. As you can tell, I love boats and motors and working on them. I hope to meet up with some of you soon. :)

Oh my!
You are a skilled craftsman.
Welcome.
I had a nice new Larson I/O for quite a while too, these vintage machines are a lot more fun!
