Post by: SteveStoker on July 20, 2017, 06:42:19 PM

I really dont know much about this boat or any other for that fact. Im not sure I want a full blown restoration project but,  the thing was almost free. If anyone can help me determine exactly what this boat is and maybe an approx. value Id be grateful.

Welcome again Steve!

I've moved your thread to its own since we're all interested to hear more about the OMC V6 you have in it.

What does the transom mount look like?  I'm curious if its the round one or a different one?

My uncle had one of those, went down in a storm in Ibiza! They were really cool, he had all white leather in his.

Great project!

Mike

I believe its the round one. Its has the rubber boot. I havent found any rips or tears. Im sure I'll replace it when I tear down.

I'm willing to bet that is a pretty unique set up with the OMC/V6
Oh, and welcome to the group.

Im not sure I'm answering this right, but yes it has a trim on it.  The whole unit will tilt. Maybe some good laughs for all. I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff.

"  I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff. "

Nor am I ...
Remember some talk about a T & T system on an I/O where the motor tilt's up in front to trim drive.
Back to Google ... LOL

The Google is very popular in my house. The motor doesn't tilt, just the outdrive.
This will b an interesting project for me. Its seems to b a complete and original boat. Its just been neglected real bad.

You're talking about the OMC 'Stringer' drive.  That is where the outdrive and motor are locked together, and the whole thing tilt up/down like a see-saw.
