Hard To Believe
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:42:39 PM »
Wouldya believe this little cherub's gonna be 50 years old tomorrow? Yeah I know. Kinda depressing I s'pose. Thought I'd be so much "further" on in life by now. Sigh ...

Happy Birthday Doug!  The big 5 0 was a tuffy for me, seemed like a harsh realization that we don't live forever I guess.  Just serves to make you want to live every day to it's fullest after you get over the initial "shock" of reaching this milestone.  Have a cold one on me buddy.

OleRed - Early Fifties?  You need to add "3 1/2' Wash Tub" to your signature!  LOL

Well happy b day Doug. Turning 50 wasnt that big of a deal for me. 40 was worse. Yeah I'd say where we are at in life makes the difference. Sure thought I'd have kids and grandkids by now. Oh well, cant go back. Just wasnt meant to be.

Something to be said for running your own sucessful business and not working for someone else Doug.

Looks like a Studebaker to me.

Red, come along ways from that first boat! Looks like it might actually be from the 40's? That'd make ya pretty old wouldnt it?

50 was nothing.
I had a Studebaker. A 1940 Champion with a '59 Swinger 340 and 4 speed.
I hope Red is old enough to know the water goes in the wash tub, not the other way around.

PS
I still have my first boat.

Happy Birthday Doug. Fifty is young. Enjoy the day. I was going to search for turning 50 year old jokes, but with my 67 year old wisdom, decided against it. I have given you grief too many times. Congratulations.

Thanks fellas. 'Preciate it.

As if turning 50 didn't suck enough it's been raining all day. 'Course that didn't stop me from going out on the boat. But in retrospect kinda wish I'd stuck with my initial thought: Grab a book or two & get back in bed. But no ... Now of course the phone's wet, wallet's wet, a** is wet & chafed, etc ...  Heh heh heh.

Thanks again guys. Never thought I'd make it this long ...?
