Hah! Fat chance of that Gregg. At the moment I'm just trying to keep this pig running. Though I do sometimes dream about finding a cheap 140 ...

Somebody on Craigslist in South Carolina had a 1977 140 listed. There's quite a few 140's from various years down here in Louisiana.  I'm planning a trip to a boat yard this weekend to see what they have. I was told they have about a dozen 140's in the yard. Someone about an hour from me has a 1978 140 for sale as well.

I'm looking at that boat and house in the back ground and thinking...are there that many doctors and lawyers in this country?
Sometimes (most of the time) it sucks to be one of the "have nots"  :(
Well, at least as you get older, you get more used to it and at least I'm not sleeping under a bridge. I have plenty to be thankful for. As Rosanne Rosannedana used to say...."Never mind"

Ah well don't feel so bad Ross. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact I'll probably die poor. But at least I'll be in good company. Good news is if I have to move under a bridge any time soon there's a vacancy right here in town. The bum that lived under the Circus bridge froze last winter.

Fyi that house in the pic was just finished a few months ago. New seawall, pilings, boatlift, dock, etc etc. God knows what it cost, the permitting alone for the aforementioned would bankrupt me. I do know the land & the previous house, which was a big 1 story house, sold for around 1.5 mil. Haven't heard yet what the owner does for a living but it must be nice ...

I'm looking for something '86 or newer. Preferably '89 or newer (better/faster trim). That's not to say if I stumbled across a real cherry older model for the right price I wouldn't give it a shot.

Junkyards will always have a special place in my heart. Pretty much grew up in em. And one of the last times my Dad & I spent together was in a junkyard.

Good luck hunting!

Either black or blue would be fine for the 300 HP motor cover. Oh, by the way, could you also delete the 300 HP on the motor and replace with 90 HP decals, the max HP for our V-153's? Don't want any run ins with the water patrol - if they could ever catch me.

Doubt they could with that rig David.

Regretably a few of the cop boats around here are purty fast. Some bought & payed for, some siezed in arrests, some a la Donzi leased at a ridiculously low price for the advertising benefit.

Venice bought our beloved Officer Phil this 26' Intrepid late last year. Pair of counter-rotating 275 supercharged Verados on it. I have it on good authority that it'll do at least 65, probably 75. Thankfully I've never had to test that theory.

Some taxpayers were alarmed by the expenditure. And rightfully so I suppose. I dunno how much it cost, gotta have 25k worth of electronics on it. But y'know what? I say what the heck. Phil really likes it. And in my book a happy cop is a friendly cop.

900HP!

I took this in Key West a couple years ago. There is something about Florida boats and multiple engines. I guess they don't have to ever worry about not being able to make it home as hopefully at least one engine will still be running!!

How 'bout 1200 horse power! This boat resides in my area and was featured on TV for holding the record for fastest center console boat in its class at 85mph.

One more pic. The kids on the boat were googly-eyed looking at my V176 Swinger, either amazed by it or were trying to figure out what the hell it was.  Makes me wish I had the V174 completed and on the water at the time when I took the picture. :-/

They are probably thinking...."That boat looks way more fun then this big clunker! You can't even touch the water from this one!"

Nope unfortunately not yet David. But boy I sure got her polished up nice ...  Still tryin to scrounge up enough cash to send it off to the Mom & Pop & Cop prop shop in Ft. Myers.

You wouldn't think a couple little dings would scrub so much speed off the top end but they do. You can see the damage on the blade to your right in the pic. Not a lot but I reckon it's enough.
