G3 At Mpls Boat Show
« on: February 12, 2012, 09:38:34 AM »
This post from Fiberclassics:

"I was shocked to get a call from the BSLOL president (Local Chapter of The Antique and Classic Boat Society). He was calling because he had seen my boat at this show and was impressed enough to want in in their booth at the Minneapolis Boat Show, which is this weekend. Clearly I was thrilled and accepted. I shined the old girl up, put her in an enclosed trailer to protect her from Minnesota's January roads, and I dropped it off on Monday. The show goes through Sunday, and I'll be spending a good amount of time there over the weekend."

The boat was restored from a very poor condition and was detailed perfectly. Appropriately called "2nd Chance".

Cool little boats !

G3 owners have a very active and passionate forum with meets around the country and a big one in Florida.
When they talk motors (Merc vs OMC) fist fights break out !

What I was thinking is that a group of Glastrons, Glasspar G3's, Larsons, and similiar fiberglas boats from 12' and up from the late 60's through the mid 80's would be a great boat show. There must be alot of these boats in the Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding area that would love to show their boats, even if they are not in a boat club.

Looking at Jerry's list of boats he owns, we do not need many more for a boat show.
