Well I am going to see if Shawn is up for buffing tomorrow night, boat's already hooked up to the van.  I can buy whatever supplies are needed, what should I buy?  If tomorrow's no good (and I totally understand), no big deal; didn't think we'd have it all buffed for Red Wing anyways :-)  I'll post back with the plans, if anyone wants to show up I'll bring some beers/whatever anyone else wants and be further in debt to this wonderful group of people!

I wonder what causes those to melt. When I did my impeller in my CV16SS it was slightly melted too but still functioned. I replaced it anyway

That little plastic tube is basically a guide for the copper tube when installing the lower unit, it's directly under the exhaust outlet from the "y" pipe thru the gimbal housing, before it passes out  thru the prop, when the motor over heats, for what ever reason, continuous power, etc, that little tube catches the blunt of hot exhaust.

Scott should be able to get some of it done tomorrow. If you can get some 1500grit sand paper unless Greg has some in the box. I should have everything else. Maybe a new set of pads a wool and a foam for finishing. I am thinking about 6:30 if that works for you I got to get some work done at the office been playing with the boat to much and not making any money.  Give me a call tomorrow and I cen let you know where we you can get the supplies.
I think this has become an addiction.

Will do.  Just to show how little I know about this - that's 1500 grit round, correct?  And a couple buffer wheels; anyone else chime in with whatever else I should buy.
