SOLD 1975 Carlson CV-16ss FOR SALE SOLD
« on: September 04, 2013, 07:08:04 PM »
Due to purchasing a 1984cvx-17 I am forced to sell my 1975 CV-16ss. Since purchase in 2010 the boat has gotten electronic ignition, bellows replaced, new carburetor, and the inertia prop. Comes with a decent roller trailer and boat cover that can be used on, or off water. Always winterized at Sons water sports. And yes this used to be Brian's old boat. Need $3500. It's also listed on boat trader
Call me to take a test ride/drive for Serious inquiries.... Runs and drives like a champ. 44-46 mph average top speed. Hit 48mph once.

That was always a great boat!  The interior is BRAND NEW...  I paid almost $800 just for the fabric...  It's cool to see pictures of the old girl!  I've got a lot of great memories from that rig!

Rob the boat looks great! Honestly I would pull that expensive Enertia prop off it(I own one so I know what they cost) and throw an aluminum on if you have one. My experience selling used boats is that your CV won't sell any faster or for any more money w/SS prop.

I know, that prop is one of the most expensive props someone can purchase. But it compliments the handling of the boat so well. I can't think of the money I have spent, in no way shape or form is this economically beneficial for me. It just kind of happened this way. Ok I admit I have been googling that CVX for a while and couldn't believe it hadn't sold yet.... I just had to go see it. My girlfriend thinks I am a little nuts because I even spent a 4 day elbow greased, light wet sand/compound buff and wax on the CV and still went out and purchased the CVX. The gelcoat looks better, and under certain light conditions looks awesome, But one could spend some more time working on it. I will definitely miss the CV. I just hope that someone who has been wanting one, and who will take care of it pops up with 3500 so I can have the funds, and the room to do work on the CVX. Not to mention how much hell I will have to hear when the weather gets cold and she wants to park her car in the garage. The CVX handles different then the CV. Not as sharp and crisp. The CV feels like a sports car on rails, and the CVX is kinda more like a muscle car. I want to take out the flooring, and put carpet back in. Reupholster the seats and side pads. The CVX engine runs strong but loads up, or gets a little shaky while trolling. So I will investigate that and try and improve it's performance. There was so many spiders living in the CVX I am actually thinking of having a web print on the canter back rest, possibly. It could be a spiderman boat. The CVX needs a tachometer before I start my search for the right prop. The tach in it is shaky, and doesn't read at all most the time. It's got a 17 pitch prop and did 48mph on GPS. Funny how I have not broken that 48mph mark in either boat. The CVX came with original manual books, very cool. After spending an entire day on Minnetonka bilge area was bone dry, only water in the boat was from the integrated coolers in the rear from the melted ice. Steering is confident and snug, but a little stiff in comparison to the CV. Will have to see what props change that next season.

I don't get it I guess, it's difficult right not to be selling stuff. Price is lowered to $3000 Firm without Enertia prop. video is my friend driving. Boat was going to be his. Until his Wife said NO!  :-/  1975 Glastron Carlson CV-16ss for sale

Its a tough tough market to sell boats in the fall.  I'm going to try and see if I can violate my 1 boat rule for a bit since I know I can't sell the CVZ in the Fall, but Spring might be better.

Start talking Doran. What's got your eye?

Yea, unless you want to give your boat away, forget about selling it this time of year. Just gonna have to sit on it till May. Then it will sell like a hot cake!

Here's a picture of your little brother in the Ozarks in 1991 when it had a 140 on, now he's sporting a 115...With the 140 it would hit 58 with a 19" prop...

I'd love to have a CV16SS and yours is very nice. If I were working, I'd at least make an offer. Maybe if its still around in the spring.

SOLD  So sorry for anyone thinking of buying it. All of a sudden I had 3 buyers. The gentleman who purchased it was working in Minnesota but is from Oklahoma. He said he is going to do work to it, and possibly join the forum.

I hope you got your asking price. I had the exact same boat and gold but a 73 and sold it for $3,500. It was in great condition too.

I took the advice of removing the prop, lowered the price and then sold it with the boat. $3300 total. Which is the exact price I paid for it. I will miss that Glastron. It definitely has features, and lines that my cvx doesn't have. The good news is I don't have to worry about two winterizations, and storage. And have already started digging in on the cvx. She will get carpet, new bucket seats, rear bench rehapolsterd. Have already ordered a new tachometer.

well, because I have to take everything out basically to put carpet in, my evaluation of the upholstery changed from deep cleaning to a replacement. The off white seems to be a magnet to dirt. I believe turning down the colors like black carpet and side pads will bring out the metal flake more. The orange in the seats will be changed into red. I discovered that the steering wheel is an exact match to the grant 414 challenger. Have one of those on order.
