breakfast get together
« on: March 04, 2014, 10:59:19 PM »
Just throwing this out there, but i was thinking it would be nice to get a group of us together for an early spring breakfast or lunch. Maybe meet up some where in Lincoln or at Mahoney Lodge?

It would be a chance for those of us that don't know each other to meet before the boating season gets under way.

Any takers?

We're interested.  Mahoney is a good half way spot between Omaha and Lincoln.  We'll be camping at Mahoney April 18-20.

Looks like we have a date and place, April 19th at the Mahoney Lodge. Lets say around 9 am? Will that work?

Saturday mornings are normally reserved for breakfast at 7am with my brother, but I will try to take a raincheck that weekend and make it to Mahoney.    Any prep work we should be doing for our Nebraska meet?   I took my son driving Friday evening and saw that they have restored the camping spots at NP Dodge Park.   Looks like at least one ramp was intact.   Hopefully all services will be restored by the CG NE meet.   I can check to see if reservations are being taken.

Ah, just call it a mid morning snack Mike. Or just have him join us, the more the merrier I say! ;D

If you would check on the ability to do reservations that would be great.

Honestly I haven't been thinking about the meet too much lately with getting ready for the 140 parts to hopefully be home by the end of the week, and getting the parts I needed to get phoenix's transom assy and drive ready to take on the new engine. We can discuss the meet at mahoney or may be get together towards the end of april or early may.

Great idea!  We will do our best to be there.  9:00 AM - IN THE MORNING!!! - is a little early for us on a Saturday but we'll try.

I'm going to have to look at my boat, the weather has been so stupid I haven't even allowed myself to think about the lake.

Oops - Tami just reminded me that April 18-20 is Easter weekend.  We have family plans so we can't make it this time.  We sure want to make it to a get-together though.  Mahoney works really well too.

We had a decent turnout for our first breakfast get together. We had a total of eight people. Good food and good times were had by all I believe.

Then some of us went and explored the state park got some exercise climbing the observation tower twice doing a little hiking and then spent some time with Christine and Tim.
Oh, some of us did not make the second climb up the tower.

Yes it is, we are going to try to do a few of these next winter. It is a nice place.  And is a maximum drive of two hours for members.

It was too far for me.  It took like 3 minutes from my campsite.  ;D It was good to see everyone.

I allotted 45 minutes from my place and was still late.    Good to see everyone.   Off season is quickly transitioning to On season, and I feel so far behind.

it was great to meet some more new faces and hangout for breakfast. We had a great time and enjoyed the food. Look forward to seeing everyone on the water soon.
