Stopped at Island Campground
« on: August 07, 2014, 11:37:35 AM »
Stopped at the Harbor Bar first, it's all cleaned up and running, Had 14 inches of water in the bar during summer flooding. Then stopped at the campground, didn't talk to anybody, just looked around. Could tell it was under water, but it's cleaned up and looks good. The entrance road going in, has that grassy area on the river side of the road where some trailers parked, some tents have been there too. It has grass, but could tell they must of had a front end loader in there cleaning mud and brush out of there, some dirt showing where they smoothed the ground, but it's now dry. Drove in, looked around, seems like the put down alot of crushed rock, must have washed some away in the flood. They put new crushed rock pads in the grassy center area for RV's, but the grass is green with some dirt spots, might cramp your tent area some. The boat landing looks good, can see where they shoveled muck away from the concrete ramp, must have power washed it, looks clean and dry. Overall everything is cleaned up and dry, some campers there. Should be fun, see you all there, Mikey

I did call Margi yesterday, that sounds about like our conversation yesterday...lots of water & damage, but it's all fixed/cleaned up and they're ready for us next week.

Thanks for the update Mike!
