Plan is to stay in my house til the roof blows off. Then grab my guns and go to Mom's. Till the roof blows off. Then seek shelter in the Ranger ...

Mom's in NC for the summer, so thank God she'll be okay.

There's room up here no stinking hurricane hear.  Maybe a little snow and cold weather in the winter

Omaha might be a bit of a trek, but your always welcome.  I'd prep for the worst, and hope for the best.  Been through a tropical storm in Biloxi while at Keesler AFB.  Won't do that again given a choice.  Home of the hurricane hunters, ya get used to the drone of c130's

Grab the important stuff and head north for a couple days.  Looks to be centered on the west coast now.

Was watching the news this morning and they were reporting the storm track moved somewhat to the west - good news is that they also reported it lost a slight bit of strength by passing over Cuba - but still supposed to be a monster.

I had thought about some relatives I have over towards Jacksonville, but when I heard about the more western track, I thought about you and jumped on this board to find any news.

Please know we're thinking of you and your mother and hoping for the best! Stay safe!!

Video from Venice, Florida. Also heard that the water system was out due to a broken water main.

Hard to tell the difference between her reporting and the main line news channels, at least no commercial interruptions.  Hope all is ok with you Doug, might just have to call you tonight.  Sounds like your area was without power.

Hello all. Made out okay but still without power at Mom's house and mine. Lost electricity 1:30pm sun at my place. 9:09pm at Mom's. Not an FPL truck in sight. Grr. Bob never lost power so I'm camping out at his place on the island. Water is back on so I can finally take a shower. WooHoo!!!

Some roofs blown off here in the park but Bob's place hung tough. Lost some shingles on my place but I've needed a new roof for awhile anyway. Mom's was unscathed but boy that wind was really howling.

Shop's okay and has electric so I hope to spend the entire day down there tomorrow.

Thanks for checking on me. Y'all take care.
