1977 CVX20 Sprint - couple of questions.
« on: February 09, 2022, 07:55:25 AM »
Hey guys, old member but havent had a glastron in a while - or a boat of any kind for that matter.

I picked up a 77 sprint with a 200 hp johnson that has close compression on all cylinders and my mechanic tells me as long as I don't flog it I should get a few more summers out of it at least.

So I'm doing some re-vamping of the boat, stereo, gauges, etc.. One question I have (the boat is 60 miles north so I cannot measure) - does anyone happen to know what the large and small gauge sizes were on the first year sprints? it has MPH, Tach, fuel, and tilt.. Additionally - obviously I am missing some important gauges. Can anyone recommend a multifunction small hole sized gauge? I would like to be able to get temp and volt at the very least and would prefer not to cut holes. Would also be great to get multi function so I could use one of the small holes for a radio remote.

Thanks! Will get yall some pics if you want them.. but if you are on the FB CVX 20 group you've already seen them.

I was planning on digging out some parts and measuring them but I just haven?t been able to get to it so I?m just gonna wing it, I know on the 77 Bal Harbor we had and the 75 CV 16 I am working on the large gauges tach and speedo are a smaller size than what is normally available these days. On the subject of multifunction gauges, when we did the 1900 I was looking for something like that and didn?t have very much luck, at that time it seemed everything I could find was larger than normal tach or speedo. If yours is like the picture Jeff posted probably be best to just save the original Dash and put in a new panel to suit your personal taste. I know Chad made a couple of really cool looking dash panels for his Cvx18.
