I was hoping to get out on Forest Lake again. Jerry Sellner and other guys will be doing some boat racing out there. What better place to watch then from the water. He will be out there both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday works better for me.
I am open to other options as well.

sounds good, I have never been there so where can I launch and are there resturants or parks for the kids to play or should we leave then home ?

There's a public launch on the South East section of the lake. There is only one ramp and it's mud that will suck you in up to your knees, but it's free!

The last time the group was there, there was a nice sandbar (3 feet of water) where we anchored and hung out, let kids swim, etc. I don't think there are any restaurants right on the water. Just a public park in downtown Forest Lake.

I would be up for Sunday. It would be Kylee and me. ( she had fun swimming last time with the other kids)
Where are the races at?
And is there another launch, I didn't like the mud last time.

There are three public launches (the other two are more central to downtown Forest Lake) and probably are in better condition but we opted for that launch because the other two only have 10 or 12 trailer spots. This one has 28. I'm up for trying a different one though as that mud was pretty terrible.

If all goes well we'll be there ,,,any speacial things need to know and are they sanctioned races or just foolin round, I believe Sellner bought a Pacecraft from me years ago.

Sellner says they race on the part of the lake closest to down town forest lake. They section off a part of the lake for them and it's patrolled. I am guessing they take over that ramp over there too.
I say we just plan on getting to the ramp on the south east east end nice and early to beat the non-glastron hooligan's. Maybe 9? They start racing at 11.

Being that this is so close, and I've only been out once this year (at the meet) I think I may have to join you. I've only launched once in this lake and at the Hagberg landing. I'll likely go there again. How can a boat landing have NO trailer parking??
Seems to me though that this landing is kinda tough to launch and load by yourself, especially if its busy.
SO what ramp are the rest of you planning on using?
Forest Lake is considered 3 lakes or identified that way. Lake 1 I believe is the one closest to town (west)
Hagberg is on Lake 3
Looks like Willow Point is just up the road it Hagberg looks bad.
I'll be alone. Joni works this weekend.

We will launch here on the east side of lake 3. Glad you can make it Ross. It's not hard to launch by yourself. There is a dock. Plus, we'll be there to help you!
Jerry told me yesterday that he can even get us in the pits via our boats!!!

My wife is SOooo jealous after I told her about this! Since she's a self-proclaimed NASCAR junkie where we used to go into the pits - the idea of boat racing and a possible opportunity to go into the pits has her absolutely GREEN WITH ENVY!!
If we weren't already committed (don't insert obvious joke here), we'd love to be able to join you guys!

Isnt that Hagberg? The one that is the mud hole?
That is the one I used last time I was there and its only a pain if loading alone and its busy. Last time I was there it was the 4th of July and after the fireworks, it took about 2 hours to get loaded up. Very busy that night.

Taking a family outing with my two boys and brother on the St. Croix. Would have loved to watch the boat races.

Was fun guys. We had 6 boats in all today... Just not all at the same time. Was fun to watch the races. I haven't seen them since I was al little kid. Makes me want to try it!

How did the Sellner twins do?

My boat's still not right. Idles fine, temp good but then tried to get on plane and it was like it was slipping and then I watched my temp gauge go from 100C to 160C in about 10 seconds. I shut her down, then got back to the launch under "no-wake" speed. Found about 18 inches of fishing line around my prop later in the day after it was on the trailer, but I definitely think an impeller job is in my fall's future.
Luckily Jim was kind enough to give me a ride so the morning wasn't a total bust! Thank you again kind sir!
I had to get back to the launch by noon so missed the races, but we had a great time toolin' around and great conversation before Jason ran me back to the ramp.

Jerry was a no-show on Sunday / Jim was doing good until he got hit & damaged his powerhead

Would have liked to see races ,kids were at babysitters and sitter was leaving at 1:30 so we had to go,next time ,bringin kids P.S. gonna get some new spark plugs.
