First the bad news.... while winterizing old blue I noticed some cracks on the sides where the motor cover hinges, looking closer there are cracks and broken fiberglass seams on the framework around the motor... floors, walls and stringers all come together....Not good.... I knew I needed a new transom and was planing on doing it “sometime soon” but it still doesn’t take on water so I thought I had time... I guess that last rouge wave that lifted us out of the water did more damage than I thought... time for a rebuild! :o And that means no 23 for a couple years :( Now the Good News! I was thinking the gold cv-23 on Craig’s was a good price? Maybe I’ll go “look” at it..... it was! Motivated seller that was moving very soon and wanted it gone.. some cash and a round trip brought “goldmember” home. It’s a very nice unmolested 23 with good wood. Goldmember was the first thing I took off of it and now just some good t.l.c. Will take care of the rest. I think “old yeller” will do just fine until I cane get blue done. I’ll post pictures when I start the rebuild.
